Traditional German Pastries

At Annelore’s German Bakery, our pastries are always handmade daily using traditional German recipes dating back to the 1600s. We import ingredients such as chocolate and flour from Germany in order to provide the most authentic experience possible. In recipes containing fruit or vegetables we source the freshest ingredients from the Raleigh Farmers market.

Prinzregenten Torte
Created for the prince regent of Bavaria. Each layer of this traditional cake is meant to represent the various districts that the Kingdom of Bavaria has. This seven layered cake is composed of 7 layers of sponge cake interlaid with a smooth chocolate buttercream and topped with a layer of chocolate ganache. Each slice is decorate with a real gold flake.

Donauwelle
Named after the waves of the river Danube. This traditional German Pastry starts with a layer of vanilla sponge cake. Next we have a chocolate genoise studded with fresh Morello cherries, followed by a layer of Bavarian cream and topped with chocolate ganache.

Linzer Tart
Getting its name from city of Linz, in Austria, the Linzer tart uses almond flour in its base and displays a prominent layer of a seeded raspberry preserve and topped with more almond flour crust that is topped with sliced almonds.

Linzer Flower
A traditional Austrian pastry. The Linzer flower mixes butter, almond flour and wheat flour for the dough and is filled with a layer of premium seedless raspberry preserve. Topped with an inviting coat of powdered sugar, which gives the flower perfectly balanced flavor.

Bee Sting Cake
A classic Bavarian dessert made from a fluffy yeast dough, with a triple Bavarian cream sandwiched between it, and topped with honey caramelized almonds. The Bee Sting cake is one of our best sellers and is available daily.
